Hi everyone! My name is Catherine and I’m a runner and a blogger. And I’d like to introduce you to the Wanderlust Runner!
A Little About Me
I started running on the track and cross country teams in middle school. I continued running while I pursued other competitive sports in high school and college. After college, I stopped running for a while. My mom was diagnosed with Stage IV Lung Cancer in September of 2015, and after five short months she passed away on February 14, 2016.
It was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to deal with. My mom and I were best friends. I called her all the time when I needed to vent or when I just wanted to talk. The first few weeks, I had the hardest time getting out of bed in the mornings. I’m not sure why I started walking every day, but it helped me cope with everything. Eventually my walks turned into runs. I’ll admit, my first few weeks running again were extremely difficult. But it turned into a passion as it helped me process my emotions and deal with my grief.
Another way that I’ve always dealt with stress has been writing. I love writing and the creative outlet it provides. So here I am combining two of my passions with a blog dedicated to my running. I hope you follow along to see my race recaps, product reviews, and anything else running related I experience on my running journey.
I also love to travel, and I plan to run races all across the United States and around the world. Thus The Wanderlust Runner was born. I’m hoping to inspire others to run and push them to achieve their fitness goals. And I hope that you join me on this journey!
