Happy New Year! The New Year is like a popular time for fitness resolutions with the whole new year, new me mentality. I personally don’t like setting fitness resolutions because I find I associate my healthy changes with the change in year. I’m a big believer that changes should not be thought of as a “new year, new me” thing. You should want to make a change and stick to it. But I do set goals for myself. I love having something to work towards, so I’ve set some big goals for myself this year. Have you set any resolutions/goals for yourself?
Running & Fitness Goals for 2018
Run 2018k in 2018
I saw someone mention this in a Facebook group and I think it’s a great, fun goal. With all of my races I have planned this year, I think it’ll be really easy to reach this goal! If you’d like to join me on this, make sure you follow along with me on Strava.
One of my big goals for 2018 is to run my first marathon. Any suggestions?
I’m going to incorporate more yoga into my fitness routine as well, whether I go to the gym and take a class or do it online at home. My goal is to do it three to four times per week. I’ve also found some yoga retreats I’d like to attend this year!
I also want to add swimming and cycling into my routine. I’ve always loved swimming and riding my bike around. And they are both a great workouts while being easier on the body. So it’s a perfect addition to a runner’s routine.
With the incorporation of more cross training, I think I’m ready to tackle a triathlon! So my goal is to do some more research and probably grill my brothers about bike and triathlon information.
